CRIMSON FIVE TO MEET PENN HERE TONIGHT

In a desperate last-ditch effort to Break its fourth-place tie with Princeton in the Eastern League, the Harvard basketball team will go "all out" tonight at 8:30 o'clock in the Indoor Athletic Building as it attempts to retreat its earlier season win over the bottom-place Penn quintet.

At present the Crimson and the Tigers trail third-place Cornell with identical records of three wins and seven defeats. In the other contest scheduled for tonight, the four-time championship Dartmouth five is a heavy favorite to win its last league game of the season over Princeton.

In their first meeting with the Quakers, Coach Fesler's cohorts completely overcame any Penn threats, as they walked away to their easiest victory of the year, 44 to 34. But tonight's visitors are as unpredictable as their boats, having lost eight games and won two--43 to 32 against Cornell and 46 to 36 over Yale.

Pre-Season Favorite

At the beginning of the season, Penn was rated as a serious threat for the E.I.L. title along with Cornell, Princeton, and Dartmouth, but in spite of its galaxy of tall veteran players, it has compiled a disappointing record.

Its highest scorer is Sid Levinson, who has 90 points in ten games to date. Following him in Charlie Viguers with 72. Only one point behind Levinson in eighth place is Harvardian Joe Romano with 89 points in the same number of games. Ed Buckley, in tenth place in the league standings with 86 points, combines with Romano in being the only Crimson players to reach the first ten this year.

Probable starters for Penn tonight are Levinson and Tony Captain at the towards with Viguers at center. Captain Henry Soleliac and Bernie Schreiter will start at the guards.

Coach Fesler will probably start Captain Franny Simpson and Joe Romano at the forward posts with Homer Peabody at center. Bud Finegan and Ed Buckley will hold down the guard situation.

This is the next to the last league game for the Crimson this season. The final contest is Friday night when it journeys to New Haven in an attempt to make up for its humilitating 54 to 40 defeat last Saturday at the hands of the boys in blue.
