SOPHOMORE LEAVES TODAY TO JOIN CANADIAN AIR FORCE

Peter C. Zoephel '43, of Winthrop House and Chislehurst, England, is leaving college today by car for Montreal, where he will join the Royal Canadian Air Force, it was revealed last night.

Zoephel said that he had not definitely been accepted yet, but that he had successfully passed the physical examination while he was in Canada during the Christmas vacation, and had assurance that he would be "finally considered" as soon as he reached Montreal.

He would not be tied down to any definite reasons for leaving. "Perhaps fighting for one's country is more entertaining than studying at Harvard," he remarked. He is a British citizen, having prepared at West-minister school in England and transferred to Milton Academy.
