Numerous Yardlings were stricken yesterday morning by an epidemic of stomach trouble due, according to doctors at the Hygiene building, either to colds or contaminated food.
When accused by sick and frats Freshmen, one of the hostesses at the Union flatly denied that the food was to blame. "It is either the change in weather or an aftermath of the flu. It often happens," she insisted.
Officials at the Hygiene building estimated that over 50 Freshmen had reported by early afternoon, and that more were expected by night. Only a few, however, were sent to Stillman to recuperate. The ham-and-eggs served Sunday night were alleged by most of the victims to be responsible.
