CRIMSON SKIERS, LED BY AMES, PLACE SIXTH AT DARTMOUTH

Captain Del Ames and Finn Forner led the Harvard skiers to sixth place in the 31st annual Dartmouth carnival, which took place at Hanover this weekend and was won by the University of New Hampshire.

Ames, running in four events, turned in the best performance for the Crimson, winning eighth in the lang-lauf, 13th in the slalom, and 18th in the jumping. Ferner captured eighth in the downhill run on the Moose Mountain trail.

Weather conditions on both days were extremely poor, with a heavy rain on Friday and such icy snow on Saturday that the slalom race had to be transferred from Oak Hill to Suicide Six in Woodstock.
