The special convention committee of the Harvard Liberal Union completed preparations last night for the National Student Merger Convention, which will take place at Harvard from December 27 to 30.

The convention, which is being held at the invitation of the H.L.U., has been called to merge the various liberal, interventionist student groups into a united national organization, on a program of full participation in the war effort, preservation of demestic democracy, and study of post-war problems.

A convention issue of the "Harvard Guardian," featuring the first Guardian editorial in three years, and articles by Edward Ames '42, member of the Merger Planning Committee, and Adam Yarmolinsky '43, member of the Merger Secretariat, will greet the 200 delegates who register in Emerson Hall on December 27.

Plans have been made for all the delegates to eat in the Adams House dining hall, while the women delegates will be put up at Briggs Hall, Radcliffe, and the men delegates will be accommodated in the Houses.

Delegates and observers are expected from some 50 colleges throughout the country, including Radcliffe, Simmons, Boston University, and Wellesley.

"The declaration of war has not solved our problems; it will only intensify our efforts. We must win the fight for democracy both abroad and at home," said Edward Ames, H.L.U. president.
