Fred W. Phinney '43 of Winchester and Winthrop House was elected captain of the cross country team at a meeting of Coach Jaakko Mikkola's harriers yesterday afternoon in the Dillon Field house. He succeeds Kay Rogers.

Phinney was the fourth Crimson runner to finish in the recent heptagonal meet held in New York ending up in sixteenth place. A half miler, he won his minor numerals last year in track. He is nineteen years old and a graduate of Brown and Nichols.

Willard Dalrymple of Brookline and Lowell House succeeds Ted Meredith as Varsity cross country manager.
