PAN AMERICAN BALL PLANNED

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Two bands and a bevy of senoritas will enliven a ball scheduled for November 28 in the Hotel Somerset and sponsored by the Pan American Society of Massachusetts and Phillips Brooks House.

During the intermissions Latin American girls in native costume will entertain the guests, who will include, the Boston consuls from below the border as well as students and other groups interested in Pan-Americanism. Proceeds from the dance will go to the International Club and to furthering Pan-American work. A Latin American scholarship may be established.

Arrangements are under way to short-wave the program to South American listeners in a series of broadcasts, one in Spanish, another in Portuguese, and a third in English. A committee of debutantes as well as PBH workers are helping to organize the ball. Pan-American groups from all the local colleges will attend. The student sponsoring committee includes Loren G. MacKinney '42, Coles H. Phinizy '42, and John C. Robbins '42.
