the party started up the ridge last summer and a difficult, though not impassable road opened up leading to the highest peak of the range, which is only 10,000 feet lower that Mt. Everest.

With the victory almost in their hands, the climbers had to turn back because they lacked time enough to complete the climb. All were confident that it could be done, however, and they hope to reach the top next summer.
