Coach Jaakko Mikkola's Varsity cross country team continued their undefeated and untied record when they downed Holy Cross by a score of 21 to 48 yesterday afternoon.
Bill Palson came in first, covering the four and a half mile grind in 20 minutes, 7.6 seconds. He was followed by Francis Kelley of Holy Cross, while in the third slot was Harvard's Bob Houghton. Palson literally walked away with this event, breaking the tape a full 10 seconds ahead of anyone else.
The Freshman barriers copied the Varsity by toppling their Holy Cross opponents 26 to 38. In this race O'Leary and Millin of Holy Cross finished first and second, while Hans Hachman of the Yardlings took a third. The course was two and three-fifths miles long, and the winning time was 14 minutes, 39.8 seconds.
John McCullough of Arlington was elected captain of the '45 cross country team after the meet.
