With the legal controversies over his appointment still raging Bertrand Russell, distinguished British philosopher, will arrive in the latter part of the week to take up his duties as visiting lecturer. Russell's seminary in Semantics is scheduled to start today but the meeting will be postponed.
Climax of the Russell case last year was the action of the Corporation playing down the moral issues in the case and emphasizing the administration's right of appointment.
The appointment of Russell came following the decision of the New York Circuit Court upholding the petition of Mrs. McKay that Russell was morally unfit to teach in the City College of New York.
Actions at present pending include an appeal to the higher court in New York by the Board of Education, and an action of Boston City Councillor Dorgan on the grounds that Russell is morally unfitted to teach at Harvard.
