Robert Stange, Laurence Brown Win Prizes in History and Lit.

History and Literature prizes for 1939-40 have been awarded to G. Robert Stange '41 and Laurence A. Brown, Jr. '42, it was announced yesterday.

Stange was given the History and Literature prize of $50, which annually goes to the Junior who "shows the greatest promise among men concentrating in this field." The entire sum must be used for buying books.

Brown received the Barrett Wendell prize, a copy of the "Cambridge Ancient History," awarded every year to the Sophomore in the field with the most notable progress.
