No good can come of a Harvard student washing his own clothes or trying to do so, as was thoroughly demonstrated yesterday when Joseph Lyford '41 tried to cheat the laundries.

Lyford, who had spilt acid on a pair of chemistry work pants, rebelled in his own way and threw the pants on the shower floor with the water turned on full. Summoned away from his impromptu washtub by some errand. he was absent for about a quarter of an hour and returned to find langorous waves breaking slowly over the far edge of his rug.
