Coach Clark Hodder's Varsity linksmen will finally open their season this afternoon with the strong Rhode Island State squad providing the opposition. The match is scheduled for Belmont and will get under way at about 2:30 o'clock.
The Crimson golfers were rained out of their first encounter, scheduled last Monday with Boston University. They will meet the Terriers on the Oakley layout on Monday and the Amherst sextet on Tuesday. The match with the Lord Jeff has been moved to Belmont.
Coach Hodder will not decide on his starting lineup until this afternoon, but Seniors Ace Cordingley and Bob Graves are certainties for the one and two positions. Back of them are lettermen. Watty Dickerman and don Elbel, newcomers Jack McCann and Don Peddie, Sophomore Pete MacGowan, Gerry Davis, and Ted Allis--all fighting for the last four jobs.
