Fulton Returns to Catcher's Position For Opener Against Tufts on Saturday

Ayres or Whittemore Will Held Down Third Sack; Healey Will Start on Hill

In an attempt to bolster up the back-stop position for Saturday's initial home game of the 1940 baseball season against an imposing Tufts nine, Coach Floyd Stahl has shifted Bob Fulton back to the catching spot.

Fulton held down the receiving post last year but was shifted to third at the beginning of the current season. Burgy Ayres of Gil Whittemore will probably take over Fulton's hot corner spot, Ayres being favored because of his hitting ability.

Healey Will Pitch

The rest of the lineup will remain intact on Saturday with Captain Tom Healey getting the call on the pitcher's mound.

Coach Ken Nash's Tufts Jumbos handed out two defeats to the Crimson nine in last year's campaign and will be primed to start the process all over again when the teams clash on Soldiers Field tomorrow afternoon.

The Jumbos were under wraps as they ran through Lowell Textile on Wednesday, with ace flinger Al Hatch doing only a four inning stretch. He will be ready to extend his personal string of victories over Harvard tomorrow. Coach Nash has not been impressed with the hitting power his men pack and looks to the game tomorrow as the first test of the year.

Tommy Lee, Tony Brudunas, outfielders, and third sacker Mark Hanabury have starting positions sewed up, and Captain Hatch is the mainstay, fixture, etc of the mound staff. But there are several question mark spots in the lineup.
