"Streamlined History" Says Langer of Proposed Course

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Considering that "it's about time that we come up to date," William B. Langer '15, College Professor of History, stated yesterday that History 32 will be completely revised next year.

Whereas the present course covers the history of continental Europe from 1815 to 1871 in the first half year and from 1817 to 1914 in the second half, the new course will come up to September, 1939 with the division at 1900.

The new history course next year, therefore, will correspond to the present 32a with the addition of the last semester on contempory twentieth century history up to the outbreak of the second World War.

In view of the emphasis on present-day Europe, Professor Langer explained that he will summarily treat the early period from 1815 to 1871 in several lectures. Faced with a lack of good text books for the last part of the course, he added that the body of material will be contained in the lectures.
