British Win Without U S Manpower Forseen

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"With our manpower and the aid of the United States in furnishing war supplies, we can win this war in a reasonable time," declared the Honorable Richard G. Casey, Australian Minister to the United States, yesterday.

Speaking for the Student Defense League before a gathering of 65 people in Emerson D. Casey emphasized the fact that "the British Commonwealth of Nations does not need American manpower to win the present conflict, so long as the United States furnishes aircraft, tanks, and other necessary war equipment." However, Casey stressed the indispensability of this material aid from the United States, and indicated that increased aid along these lines is sorely needed.

Civilian Morale Holds

Casey stated that despite the strain of constant bombings, British civilian morale is admirable. The recent activity in the Mediterranean and of the RAF in bombing military objectives in Germany, must both be regarded as "plus points" in favor of Britain and her allies.

The Australian Minister concluded his talk by pointing out that "Australia is heart and soul with Britain in her fight, which is, in effect, our fight, and there is no admission whatsoever of possible defeat."
