Harvard's 28 football lettermen will meet in Dillon Field House this afternoon to select a successor to Captain Joe Gardella. There are 12 Juniors who won their H this year.
The nine outstanding Junior lettermen are Burgy Ayres, Tom Gardiner, George Heiden, Frannie Lee, Loren MacKinney, Vern Miller, Chub Peabody, Dick Pfister, and Charley Spreyer. The other three eligibles are Hank Vander Eb, Greeley Summers, and Ted Lyman.
Iron men Tom Gardner and Chub Peabody from Groton are outstanding candidates for the coveted post, while Choate nominates either Charley Spreyer, Burgy Ayres, or Frannie Lee. All of these men played prominent roles in Harvard's grid successes this fall.
From the South comes Loren MacKinney, the popular Chapel Hill product who has been a sparkplug all year long. The other three main contenders are George Heiden, Vern Miller, and Dick Pfister, all from the Mid-West.
