Springfield Scores 2-1 Overtime Win, As Engineers Bow to Crimson 2-1

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Coach Carr's soccer eleven had a busy weekend, playing Springfield on Saturday and M.I.T. yesterday, and for all their efforts came out even, with the gymnasts winning 2 to 1 and the Crimson coming back to take the Engineers by the same score.

The Springfield encounter was a rough and tumble battle that wasn't decided until and overtime period had been called. One goal behind, the Carrmen staged a last period rally resulting in the tying score from the toe of Jack Sawhill. Then in the overtime canto the enemy swept down the field and Schmid clinched the game for gymnasts. Both Prenny Willetts and Bill Edger were injured in the afternoon's skirmish.

In spite of the fact that Willetts and Edgar were missing from the lineup, the Crimson held their own against M.I.T., Sawhill again monopolized the scoring honors by counting in second and fourth periods.

The Yardling soccer aggregation also downed the M.I.T., Freshman in a close 1 to 0 victory.
