GOLD COAST TIES KIRKLAND, 0-0

Two more close battles were fought in the House football series yesterday, when Kirkland held Adams to a 0-0 tie, and Leverett defeated Dunster 6-0.

Although scoreless, the Adams-Kirkland fight was far from dull. In the first quarter, Bill Rand, newcomer to the Gold Coast outfit, blocked a Kirkland kick on the twenty. But before the Adams men could tally, the Deacons intercepted a pass and recovered the ball.

Kirkland Threatens

This started a steady Kirkland advance, largely made possible through the success of the Eberle-Addington spinner plays. The Gold Coast rallied, however, before the end of the half. In the last quarter both teams let go. Bob James's passes to Hurley and Kuhn sent the Adams men goalward more than once, but they were unable to score.

In the second game of the afternoon, the Bunnies scored early in the second quarter on a sensational 20-yard pass from Kack Hughes to Ed Edmunds on the three. Edmunds carried the ball, but Cameron's kick was wide. Dunster made several attempts to tie the score, but each time were turned back by the tough Bunnies, sparked by Lee Ackerman's hard tackling.

Tomorrow, Eliot will fight Winthrop, last year's champ, while Dudley will take on Lowell. In the touch series, the Bellboys squashed the Puritans, 8-0, in yesterday's game.
