Slichter's Labour Course Opened to Businessmen Under Leatherbee Will

Named Leatherbee Lecture Course For Third Year

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

For the third year in a row the course "Problems in Industrial Relations" given by Sumner N. Slichter, professor of Business Economics, has been designated as the Leatherbee Lecture Course and will be open to businessmen without charge.

The course, which is given at the Business School, is chiefly concerned with labor relations and with collective bargaining, which assumed such importance to businessmen after the passage of the Wagner Act.

Under the terms of the bequest of the late George H. Leatherbee one course in the Business School is open to properly qualified business and professional men, and Professor Slichter's course has been chosen each year because of the general interest in labor problems.

As a background to the understanding of collective bargaining, the course includes a survey of the historical development of the American labor movement, and an interpretation of its influences.
