The greatest salesman since Barnum turned up this weekend in the form of an enterprising Sophomore who sold memberships in the Harvard Varsity Club to an unknown number of Freshmen for the piddling sum of one dollar.
Stressing the billiard facilities and the use of the lounges in the club building, the glib-tongued super-salesman was on his way to a small fortune when he unwittingly approached two Seniors with his nefarious proposition, and was soundly squelched.
The Sophomore, although a star Freshman athlete last year, has never made his major H and is not a member of the Varsity Club.
