THREE APPOINTED TO LAW SCHOOL FACULTY

Fuller, Freund, Katz Receive Posts; None Will Succeed Frankfurter or Magruder

Three appointments to the Law School teaching staff, effective next September, were announced yesterday by the University.

Lon L. Fuller, professor of Law at the Duke University School of Law, will be visiting professor of law giving courses in Contracts, while Paul A. Freund, of the Solicitor General's office in Washington, will be lecturer on law, giving courses in Conflicts and in Problems of Constitutional Law.

Milton Katz to Lecture

Milton Katz '27 of the Attorney General's office in Washington, will be lecturer on law, giving courses in Public Utilities and in the Regulation of Business. Professor Katz will also serve on the faculty of the School of Public Administration.

None of the appointees, Law School officials pointed out, can be looked on as successors to Felix Frankfurter, who retired this winter to become an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, or to Calvert Magrudor, whose appointment to a Federal judgeship was announced a week age.

Fuller is Authority

Professor Fuller, a graduate of Stanford, is an authority on Contracts and Jurisprudence. Since 1931 he has boon professor of law at Duke.

Both Professor Katz and Professor Freund graduated magna cum laude from the Law School in 1931.

Fround was president of the Law Review and took a doctor of jurisprudence degree from the Law School in 1932, following which he served as Justice Brandeis's secretary for a year. Katz has served extensively in Now. Deal positions since he left the Law School, with the R. F. C. and the N. R. A., and the S. E. C. before going to the Department of Justice.
