Varsity Netters Travel To New Haven Slight Favorites

Freshman Squad Tangles With Eli Cubs On Jarvis Courts Tomorrow

An improved Varsity tennis squad matches shots with the Elis at New Haven tomorrow afternoon in a ten man affair. The Barnabymen rate as slight favorites to defeat the Blue netmen on their own courts.

For the Crimson, Dave Burt, Captain Langdon Gilkey, John Palfrey, Walt Muther, Chet Legg, and Jack Stewart will play in their regular positions. The last four places will be filled by George Goodwin, Bill Everts, Homer Peabody, and Art Brooks.

The Ell team is heavily studded with Sophomore and Junior performers, as are the Crimson. Chuck Spalding, Rolfe Kingsley, Bill Thorn, Mac Stephens, Captain Gordon Campbell, Bob Freedman, Tom Rutledge, and George Kelly are the outstanding Blue singles men. It is a well-balanced outfit, but lacks some of the individual brilliance of the Crimson.

The Freshman netmen are scheduled to play the Eli cubs on the Jarvis courts at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
