STAHL NINE MEETS BOSTON U. BATSMEN

Veteran Slim Curtiss is slated for mound duty today as Floyd Stahl's heavy-hitting nine journeys over to Riverside to face the challenge of twice-vanquished Boston University and its ace flinger, Captain Bob Leahy.

Fresh from their ten-inning uprising and consequent victory over Columbia Saturday, the Crimson are favored to chalk up their second straight win in this, the first of a two game home-and-home series with the Terriers. The game is scheduled to get under way at 4 o'clock.

Coach Stahl probably will not let Curtiss toll throughout the entire nine innings, and big Tom Healey or possibly Sophomore Charley Brackett will share pitching chores with him. Bob Fulton will be the starting backstop, but a rapidly-improving Chief Boston may see a bit of service, too. Fred Heckel will again get the starting call at shortstop in place of injured Fred Keys, and the rest of the regular lineup remains intact.

Terriers Twice Defeated

Coach Mel Collard's men have bowed to the Rhode Island State Rams and the Tufts Jumbos in their first two engagements, but Leahy is liable to prove to be a tough nut to crack for Lupe Lupien and Co. The Terrier lineup packs quite a bit of offensive punch too, with third sacker John "Yama" Quinn and catcher Johnny Walker being the chief threats.

Fielding lapses, especially in the infield, have proved costly to the Boston University nine in its first tilts, and this inner defense will have to be bolstered considerably to cope with a Crimson squad which has taken full advantage of its spring trip and is rapidly rounding into mid-season form. The contest will be the first local appearance for the Stahlmen, and on Friday they will travel to Princeton for their second league clash.
