Ten competitors were picked for the finals of the Lee Wade-Boylston Public Speaking Prize, as the semi-finals were run off in Holden Chapel yesterday afternoon.

In the absence of Robert S. Hillyer, Boylston Professor of Rhetoric and Oratory, Frederic C. Packard, assistant professor of Public Speaking, again presided. The judges included Robert W. Coues, instructor in English; Robert F. Young, instructor in Public speaking; and Packard.

Winners were Stanley O. Beran '41, Howard O. Blackwell '39, Edward G. Greenburg '41, Harry S. Harwood '59, Leon Lipson '41, Jonas M. Muller '40, James J. Pattee '41, Harvard Rivin '40, Robert H. Ryan '41, and John R. Whitteer '39.
