HARRIERS TRIUMPH OVER INDIANS, NEW HAMPSHIRE

YARDLINGS TAKE SECOND AS NEW HAMPSHIRE CUBS WIN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Although their big chief, Hal Wonson, took his scheduled first place, the vaunted Dartmouth harriers came in a poor third as Harvard took first and New Hampshire second place in the annual triangular meet at Cambridge yesterday.

The final totals were: Harvard, 31; New Hampshire, 42; and Dartmouth, 60.

Paul Johrde '43, Yardling captain, was an easy first in the Freshman event, but a potent New Hampshire cub team won the meet with '23 points to Harvard's 32 and Dartmouth's 83.

Burwell Third

Trailing Wonson across the finish line in the Varsity meet was Jones of New Hampshire, with Langy Burwell of the Crimson right on his heels. Gene Clark took fourth, and Captain Penn Tuttle, who finished with a powerful kick, was fifth.

This is the Crimson's third straight victory this year, bringing the Mikkolamen up to the Yale-Princeton meet, slated for next Friday, undefeated.

Varsity Results

The Varsity runners finished as follows: one, H. Wonson (D); two, Jones (N.H.); three, E. L. Burwell '41 (H); four, E. Clark '40 (H); five, P. Tuttle '40 (H); six, Kirk (N.H); seven, D. Simboli '40 (H); eight, Williams (D); nine, Rivers (N.H.); ten, Bull (D); eleven, Underwood (N.H.); twelve, R. Wing '40 (H); thirteen, R. Jay '42 (H); fourteen, Sanborn (N.H.); fifteen, J. McLoughlin '41 (H).
