The second in a series of lectures was presented in the Poetry Room of Widener yesterday afternoon when Bartlett J. Whiting, assistant professor of English read and discussed mediaeval love lyrics.
The first lecture was given by Fred N. Robinson, Gurney Professor of English Literature who spoke on Beowulf. The talks and reading are all of an informal nature and provide an opportunity for discussion.
In the future other prominent members of the English department will give lectures upon other literary topics. All the dates have not yet been filled, but according to plans, the lectures will take place on Thursday afternoons at four o'clock.
Attendance is by tickets, available in advance at the Poetry Room.
