RIOT AT WILLIAMS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (UP)--Rioting between 250 Williams College Freshmen and upperclassmen, breaking out after a mock burning of "non-Aryan" books, and the theft of an effigy of Fuehrer Adolf Hitler, was quelled tonight by police.

The general free-for-all lasted nearly two hours in the Freshman quadrangle but, according to Police Chief G. A. Royal, caused no injuries. His only action was to issue a summons for speeding against Harry W. Harris 21, of East Orange, N. J., a senior and star guard of last season's football team.

The meeting reportedly was inspired by Hitler's plan to burn books of non-Aryan nature in Vienna's National library.
