Sliding over a wet course in 2:34, David Emerson '38, Captain of the ski team, won the annual University race yesterday over the Sherburn Trail at Pinkham Notch.
William H. Hinton '41 finished second, two seconds behind the winner. Third was John H. Pierpont '39, and fourth, Gayle C. Burton '41, both of whom came in less than fifteen seconds after the first two. Fifth was Peter T. Brooks '38.
Of fifty-four entries, forty-eight finished. This year the race, for Harvard men only, had to be postponed, owing to inclement weather.
