CLASS OF 1940 ELECTS OFFICERS FEBRUARY 25

IF 20 NOMINATIONS ARE MADE, A PRIMARY WILL BE HELD

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A petition, signed by 35 Freshmen and handed in to Kendric N. Marshall '21 Secretary of the Union, before 7 o'clock, February 17, will be sufficient to nominate a class officer. That time on that date is positively the last at which petitions will be accepted.

The complete list of nominations will be posted on February 19. The Student Council Committee for Freshman Affairs, composed of Francis Keppel, '38, George G. Hedblom '37, and Marshall, has the power to add the list of candidates as they see fit.

If there are less than twenty names, the final election will be held on Thursday, February 25. If there are more, there will be a primary on Tuesday, the twenty-third. The eight candidates receiving the highest number of votes will engage in the run-off on the twenty-fifth, their names being announced in the CRIMSON the day before.

The man who receives the highest number of votes will become the President of the class, the runner-up becomes the Vice-President, and the third candidate is made Secretary-Treasurer.

In the primary, the voter must mark eight choices, and in the election, three. The ballots will be invalid if they do not contain the required number of choices. The voting will be held in the Union during luncheon and dinner. Any Freshman who registered at the first of the year, and still is in the College, is eligible to vote.
