DEACONS, RABBITS WIN IN INDOOR BASEBALL

Kirkland Nips Winthrop 5-4, Leverett Trims Gold Coasters by 4-2 Score Yesterday

In the indoor baseball league yesterday, Kirkland House just squeezed out a victory over Winthrop by a 5-4 score. Battling nip and tuck over the whole five inning route, the Deacons sent the winning tally across in the final frame when the Puritan pitcher weakened.

In the second game of the afternoon Adams House, the chief contenders for the title last year, absorbed their second straight defeat at the hands of Leverett, losing 4 to 2.

In the contest with a 1-0 lead until the last two innings, Adams fell by the way-side as the Rabbits brought out the heavy artillery, aided by numerous Gold Coast infield miscues. Adams, however, kept threatening but could never quite get across the required runs.
