FRESHMEN CAN TRY OUT FOR CRIMSON ON NOV. 9

OPEN HOUSE FOR PROSPECTIVE '41 CANDIDATES SOON

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

First chance for Freshmen to try out for the CRIMSON will come on Tuesday, November 9, when competitions will open for the News, Business and Photographic Boards.

These trials will thus open after the conclusion of the Hour Exams and will last from six to eight weeks, ending with sufficient time left for plenty of studying before midyears.

Open House

Open House for prospective candidates who desire to come down and see just how Harvard's daily newspaper is published will be held at a date to be announced the first week in November.

Although no definite number of candidates are elected at the end of the competition, ordinarily seven Freshmen are taken on the News Board and a proportionately smaller number on the other two boards during the year.

There will be no editorial competition for the class of '41 until next year.
