HYGIENE DEPARTMENT TO START FREE PHYSICAL EXAMS ON NOVEMBER 1

With about 1200 first call subjects finished up, the Hygiene Department expects to be ready to start its regular service of free physical examinations for graduate students and upperclassmen by Monday, November 1, officers said yesterday.

From the first of the month until Thanksgiving the extra doctors, who are now taking care of Freshmen and other compulsory examinations, will be on hand to look at volunteers. Last year 148 upperclassmen and 69 graduate students exclusive of Law Men, who had a separate clinic, were examined.

At the moment medicos estimate that they are near the middle of the class of 1941, which would be around the K's. Accurate determination is impossible since some men whose names begin with W may have already been examined as fall team participante.

In addition to the compulsory examinations for the Yardlings and other new students, a total around 1000, all athletes must be given the once over.
