The action of the Senate in creating a commission to represent the United States government at the Tercentenary celebration next full comes as a gratifying addition to the glamour surrounding this significant event. Recognized by the national government, the celebration is now officially an event of national importance.

An interesting commentary on the bill is the fact that it includes the following interesting phrase: "Whereas, Harvard University endeavors to foster and maintain the ideals of truth and freedom so dear to America . . ." It should impart a pleasing glow to the heart of every Harvard man to know that the Senate of the United States does not consider his university a hot-bed of red agitation, even if the Massachusetts legislature does. We refer the representative from Dorchester to Messrs Roosevelt, Garner, and Byrns, who are choosing the commission, for a certificate of Harvard's virtue.
