GREEN LEADS HURDLERS TO PENN'S RELAY MEET

Something new in Harvard track competition will be started when Milt Green leads a four man team to the Penn relays on Saturday, April 25.

His teammates will be Dick Hayes, lanky senior, Bill Schmidt, who was second to Green in the recent 100-meter high hurdles intramural competition in the Stadium last Saturday, and Dave Crawford who was second to Green in the 200-meter low hurdles race in the same meet.

Hurdles Will be on Grass

The hurdles competition this Saturday will be run on grass, the first time that the Harvard runners have run on the sod in competition this year. The meet will be held on the football gridiron in Franklin Field.

The shuttle re45lay affair is run over a straightaway with two men at each end. The first man runs over the 110-yard distance, hands the baton to the man at the other end, who returns back over the same length returning the baton.

Green Against Jesse Owens

The anchor man will be Milt Green, who will probably be pitted against Jesse Owens, colored flash from Ohio State. His college will form the most serious competition for the Harvard team. Another strong contender will be Cornell.

With Green and his fellow-hurdlers out of the G.B.I. meet in the Stadium Saturday, the meet swill be closer by about 20 points. Harvard should still win, but the competition will be much keener than in past years when it has been the custom for the home team to pile up more than a 100 points.
