HANDICAP TRACK EVENTS GET UNDER WAY THIS AFTERNOON

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Stadium track will get its initial workout in actual competition when the annual spring handicap meet is run off there today. With the track newly rolled and pounded down, the runners will get their first chance to run under satisfactory conditions, as rain has left the track more or less a soggy mess up to now.

A large turnout is expected today for the finals in the discus, hammer, and shot along with the two hurdles and two dash events.

If the handicaps are adjusted reasonably, Milt Green and Norm Cahners should have everything their own way in the hurdles and dash events respectively, with Bill Schmidt trailing Green closely.
