Spring Football Opens With Exercises and Signal Drill

No Contact Work Until After the Vacation

Although it will be some time before the thud of the pigskin sounds at Soldiers Field, actual spring practice for the football men gets under way this afternoon in Briggs Cage.

Dick Harlow has announced that the week and a half before vacation will be devoted to setting-up exercises principally. Emphasis will also be placed on signal drill, but contact work will not start until after the April recess.

The work in the Cage will last from 4.30 to 6 o'clock, daily, and practice will be transferred outdoors as soon as the ground is hard enough. After the outdoor work starts, the coaches will be on the field at 3 o'clock, ready to give instruction to punters and forward pass experts.
