Playing sensational squash before a capacity audience, Germain G. Glidden '36 yesterday defeated Donald Strachan, the defending champion, to enter the finals in the National Championships this morning in Hartford. The Varsity team also entered the finals of their series by upsetting the New York team.
Using masterful strokes, Glidden carried the play throughout the match to win in straight games, 15-11, 15-11, 15-7. His opponent in the finals will be Andrew C. Ingraham '31, of Cleveland, who upset Neil Sullivan, seeded number two and former National Champion.
Facing Philadelphia in the finals of the team matches today, the Crimson will use the same live men who overcame New York yesterday.
