With light snow predicted for today in New Hampshire and Vermont, winter sports weather over the weekend should be exceptionally good, reports the Boston Transcript's Old Man Winter.

461/2 inches of snow are reported at Pinkham Notch, with 15 inches near the summit of Mt. Washington. Light, powdery snow which is expected to fall this afternoon should improve the condition of the ski trails.

The Boston & Maine's snow train will go this weekend to Goffstown, New Hampshire, in the Uncanoonuc Mountains, where 30 inches of snow are reported at the present time. The Boston & Albany Winter Sportsman is scheduled to journey to Hindsdale in the Berkshires.
