CRIMSON BOXERS LOOM POWERFUL THIS SEASON

Pleased by the good condition of the squad on reporting, Coach Henry Lamar predicted a successful season for the Varsity boxers. Returning veterans, led by Captain Pete Olney, and members of the strong '39 Freshman team, are expected to fill the places of the seven fighters lost by graduation.

Outstanding in the 115-pound class are Vic Gatto and Bill Segal, undefeated in Freshman competition last year. In the 125-pound class Jim Kostarelos undefeated as a Freshman three years ago, and Dick Richardson are the most prominent contenders. Bergstein and Schrader in the 135's and Dwight Ellis in the 145's appear the best of their classes. Ellis will fill the place of Johnny Brassil, son of the well known referee.

Footballman Bobby Green will battle Al Corbett, who broke his hand last year, for the call in the 155-pound class. Captain Pete Olney, who lost only one bout last year, seems to have a competitor in the 165's in Eddie Davis, who is regaining his top form of two years ago.

The 175-pound class is well supplied with such strong contenders as Henry Lloyd, Art Oakes, and Rick Hedblom. The heavy-weight boxer of last year, Spencer Howe, who beat Cramer of Virbinia, will battle Pete Cable for the position in the unlimited class.

The squad is working at top speed in preparation for the first meet on December 12, with M.I.T.
