YARDLING PUCKSTERS MEET THIS AFTERNOON

First Practice for 1940 Tomorrow in Arena; Varsity Practice in Boston Garden Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

More than 70 aspiring Yardling puckmen are expected to turn out for the first hockey meeting to be held this afternoon at 5:30 o'clock in the Upper Common Room of the Union. The first practice for the 1940 squad will be held tomorrow afternoon on the Arena ice at 2:30 o'clock and will last until 5:30 o'clock.

Clark Hodder will again have charge of the squad and "Skeets" Canterbury will take the embryonic not minders under his wing for another year. With the undefeated record of last year's sextet, which included a 9-1 trouncing of the Eli first-year men, to shoot at, this season's sextet will have to hustle to prepare for the first game with Framingham High which comes on December 9. Two more games with Rindge Tech on December 15 and with Milton Academy on December 16 will be played by the Freshmen before the Christmas holidays.

Varsity at the Garden

For the first time this year the Varsity skaters will practice on the ice of the Boston Garden at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon.
