HANDBALL COURTS ESTABLISHED FOR FRESHMEN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Closed last year Hemenway Gymnasium opens its doors again on Monday when the 5 o'clock whistle blows for the regular twilight calisthenics class.

This class, open to all members of the University, will be given five times a week as usual and as usual the athletes will have a musical accompaniment.

Cox in Command

According to a statement received from Norman W. Fradd, assistant director of physical education, yesterday afternoon, Howard Cox 3L will be in charge of activities in Hemenway during the year. Graduate School students at law, education, and theology in whose midst the building is located will be the principal users of its facilities.

Later in the season authorities plan to start a basketball tournament for prospective lawyers and also to set up handball courts to be used by Freshmen for elective compulsory athletics.

Indoor Building Opens

The Indoor Athletic Building also begins its eighth year on Monday. Five o'clock gymnasium class starts under the direction of David Hyde, newly appointed instructor in the Department of Physical Education. This is a voluntary affair, open to all, no sign up necessary.
