Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
In one of the sloppiest exhibitions turned in by a Harvard basketball team in recent years, the Varsity quintet lost to M.I.T. 30-27 last night.
Going into the game overconfident, the Varsity was repulsed at the very outset by a field goal in the first minute of play by Billy Wu, son of the Mayor of Shanghal. Wu and Captain Garth were the sparkplugs of the M.I.T. outfit, with Garth accounting for six field goals.
Crimson Puzzled
Disconcerted by this early setback, the puzzled Crimson five tried to get together, but was unable to click until the last few minutes of play to bring the score, at the end of the period to 17-11 in favor of the visitors.
Entering the second period the under-dog, the Harvard outfit failed to resume its co-operative teamwork, every man playing his own game for the first few minutes. Toward the end of the period the Crimson men began to close up on the Engineers, the lead teetering from one side to the other. A last minute drive climaxed by clever handling of the ball by Garth clinched the game for M.I.T.
Struck Helps
Although the presence of Vernan Struck, Varsity football player who dropped out early in the season because of studies bolstered up the morale of the team somewhat, he showed his lack of practice, having reported only two days ago.
In a preliminary game the Freshman fared better than their Varsity mates, completely swamping the M. I. T. Yearlings 45-16.
Playing a mediocre Bridgewater Teachers College yesterday afternoon, sloppy playing and poor handling of the ball lost the game for the Jayvees 23-11.
