Freshmen will pay more at their dances in order to here better orchestras, a poll conducted by the Union Committee at dinner in the Union last night declared. The poll came as the result of a long discussion in the recent committee meeting on a matter of policy of whether the average freshman wanted expensive orchestras badly enough to pay extra for them.
Fletcher Henderson was an overwhelming choice over Don Gaban as the orchestra desired at the next dance. 356 votes were cast for Henderson at a price of $2.00 a couple and $1.50 stag, while 174 persons preterred Gaban at $1.25 a couple and $1.00 stag. Thirteen expressed no choice.
On the question of when the proposed dance should be held, 319 votes were cast for Friday evening, February 21, despite the fact that it is the night before a holiday, and 191 others favored Saturday evening, March 14, while 37 were undecided.
