VARSITY RACQUETMEN DEFEAT HOLY CROSS 9-0

Team to Encounter Pennsylvania on Divinity Courts This Afternoon at 2:30 O'Clock

Continuing its long string of victories, the Varsity tennis team swamped a weak Holy Cross outfit to the tune of 9-0 on the Divinity Courts yesterday afternoon. Out of the nine matches played, Holy Cross was unable to take even one set.

So far this season Columbia, Brown, and the Crusaders have all fallen before the Crimson racquetmen without winning any of the individual matches. The team will meet its first real opposition this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock when it clashes with Pennsylvania on the Divinity Courts.

Marco Hecht, one of the best intercollegiate players in the East, is Penn's number one man. The match between Hecht and Captain Frank Jones will almost certainly go to three sets. Benny Friedman, of New York, who was outstanding last year as a Freshman, plays number two for the visitors. Fred Whit-beck, who was in excellent form yesterday afternoon, will have quite a fight to win from Friedman.
