HARVARD ORATORS OPPOSE STANFORD IN UNION DEBATE

Sullivan and McLean Will Uphold the Affirmative Side Against Californian Opponents

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Upholding the right of labor to carry out collective bargaining through non-company unions the Harvard Debating Council will face a Leland Stanford team at 7.15 o'clock Wednesday evening, in the Upper Common Room of the Union. The debate is being held under the auspices of the Freshman Union Society.

Debating on the question, "Resolved; That all collective bargaining be done through non-company unions protected by law," the Stanford forces will take the negative. This debate is a no-decision one, to which all members of the University are invited.

Stanford is completing a transcontinental tour which has included debates with Syracuse, McGill, and Dartmouth. Members of both teams will eat supper together in the Union before the debate.

Powers McLean '36 and A. Gilman Sullivan '36 compose the Harvard team, opposed by John P. McFarland and Robert A. Grantier of Stanford. Sullivan took part in the Oxford radio debate in December and McLean saw action against Yale last fall and in the triangular debate with Yale and Princeton last spring.

On Thursday the debate will be repeated over the air from WNAC at 3 o'clock. A dinner Thursday night will be given by Stanford graduates in honor of the team.
