Robert M. Bunker '39 has been appointed Chairman of the 1939 Red Book, Arthur A. Ballantine, Jr. '36, Student Councilman in charge of Freshman Affairs, announced last night.
The choice was made from 150 Freshmen with previous journalistic experience by Ballantine and Francis Keppel '38, Sophomore Representative, after consulting first-year officials.
Bunker, who was editor-in-chief of the Roxbury Latin Tripod last year, will have complete charge of the publication of the year book, which comes out the day of the Jubilee.
His first job will be to select his department heads with the cooperation of the two Freshman mentors. These choices will be announced before the Christmas vacation.
Bunker entered Harvard with highest honors, and was immediately permitted to take advanced courses. At Roxbury Latin, he was football manager, a member of the Student Council, and one of the leading characters in the school plays.
