In honor of Dr. David L. Edsall, recently retired Dean of the Medical School, a dinner will be given Wednesday evening by the Medical School Alumni Association at the Harvard Club of Boston. Preceding the dinner, there will be a meeting at the Medical School in the afternoon, when several speeches will be given.
President Conant will preside at the dinner and President emeritus Lowell will deliver the principal address. Dean Burwell will also speak.
At the afternoon meeting, Dr. Walter A. Jessup, President of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, will speak on "The Development of Medical Education in the United States since the World War." Eugene F. DuBois '03, professor of Medicine at Cornell, and Lawrence J. Henderson '98, professor of Chemistry, will also speak, while Walter B. Cannen '96, professor of Physiology, will preside.
