With examinations nearly over, the spirit of gayety raises its head with a flood of announcements of forthcoming Winter Dances. Adams, Winthrop and Lowell have set their dates respectively as February 8, February 20, and March 8.
The plans for the Adams House Winter Dance, featuring Fletcher Henderson and his fifteen piece orchestra, have been completed. There will be music and other entertainment during dinner for house members and their guests from 6.30, and dancing will follow from 9.30 until 2.30 o'clock.
Only two dozen tickets remain to be sold, and the House Committee has announced that no more will be printed, as the limited size of the dining hall necessitates a check upon the number attending. However, in order that none may be disappointed at the door, the House Committee has announced that the tickets, which are now selling for $3.50 per couple, will be on sale at the door for $5.00 per couple and $2.00 per stag. Professor and Mrs. J.P. Baxter III head the list of patrons and patronesses, and Robert R. McGoodwin, Jr. '35, is in charge of the dance.
Preliminary arrangements have also been made for the Winthrop Mid-winter Formal Dance on Wednesday, February 15, at which music will be furnished by Tal Henry's North Carolinians.
