As the first step into the fall season many of the Houses are having informal dinners and gatherings this week for the purpose of welcoming the new Sophomore members to the House. At Leverett House next week the Master and Staff will meet the younger men in an informal evening gathering to which all new and old House members will be invited. Winthrop House is having an informal dinner next week on Thursday at which the master and the tutors will officially welcome the new men to the House. Although it will be a regular weekly House dinner, there will be no speaker, the purpose of the meeting being merely to introduce the new men to the wiles of House Life and to the men who are a part of it.
It is understood that the other Houses are planning similar meetings, but so far they have placed no definite date for the gatherings.
In charge of most of the gatherings are the House Committees of the various Houses. Below are listed the names of the Chairmen and the other members of the Committees for each House.
Adams House: Edwin I. Brainard '35, Chairman; Robert R. McGoodwin '35; Merle W. Hart '35; Richard B. Johnson '36; John B. Rowland '36.
Dunster House: Franklin P. Whitbeck '35, Chairman; E. Francis Bowditch '35; Thomas H. Quinn '36; Gordon F. Robertson '36; Henry R. Withington '35.
Eliot House: David W. Lewis '35, Chairman; T. Ferguson Locke '35; Warren Sturgis '35; Hervey L. Smith '35; George S. Franklin, Jr. '36; David W. Brown '36; Robert S. Chafee '36.
Kirkland House: Herbert N. Stevens '35, Chairman; Clifford Mannal '35; Douglas C. Scott '35; Shaun Kelly '36; Roy W. William '36.

In all of the House Committees there will be elections held within the next month in order that two or more members from the class of 1937 may be elected.
